Super Firetemp® L, by Johns Manville, is a type II calcium silicate insulation with an average density of 20 pcf (320 kg/m3). It is an inorganic, non-combustible, high-temperature insulation for fire protection applications. It can be used in systems operating up to 1800°F (982°C). Super Firetemp L is made primarily of lime, silica and reinforcing fibers. This product is white, essentially dust-free, contains no asbestos, mercury or lead, and meets or exceeds ASTM C656, Type II Grade 5.

    Extensively tested for fire resistance in standard building and hydrocarbon fire test methods, Super Firetemp L meets or exceeds ASTM C656, Type II, Grade 5.

Applications

Applications include industrial and commercial insulation for ovens, processing equipment, pipe supports, and precipitators. It provides fire protection for structural supports such as steel or concrete columns, tank legs, electric circuits, ventilation ducts, and high-performance fire-rated walls. It also serves as refractory backup insulation, is used in UL fire-rated wall and ventilation duct assemblies, and protects grease ducts.

Installation and Fabrication

Super Firetemp L is easily machined with standard carpentry tools and installed using drywall screws, nails, or an automatic nailer. It can be V-grooved for custom fitting on tanks and vessels as thermal insulation and a fire barrier, meeting UL, NFPA, and API standards. The surface readily accepts paint, wall coverings, and veneers.

Shipping

Shipping will be automatically calculated at checkout for all orders within the contiguous United States. Orders of in-stock materials generally ship from our factory within 1-3 business days after receipt of the order. Delivery times vary depending on location within the United States. You will receive a confirmation email with tracking information on the day your order ships.

There is a $65 charge per pallet. Please note that depending on order size, a shipment may contain multiple pallets. Maximum pallet quantities are noted in the Product Details above.
